Busy week/end
Well it has been another busy week and weekend but the office is very quiet this morning so I have time to post - I have been here for an hour and I am still the only person in!
Weekend almost made me feel young again... was out on Friday night, then a 21st on Saturday night then out again all day yesterday. Was fun though!
BTW a question for you all: who holds an outdoor 21st party at night in the middle of winter???

Been a while...

Moving Day
Just to let you all know I may not be around much for the next couple of weeks as I will be moving next weekend. I am moving to a Sydney suburb called Ermington which is much closer to work (30 mins rather than 1-1.5 hrs) and closer to a fair few friends whom I hang out with. So if you don't see me online it is because I am packing or am moving or haven’t got an internet connection up and running yet. :D

Just to prove its the simple things that please...
I got my new work computer today! Wohoo! Now it may not seem like much but the other one was starting to get a little clunky - keyboard dying, slow processing etc
But the cool thing - flat panel montior! Doesn't mean extra good vision or anything but its the novelty value that counts. :D Unfortunately my little toy frog can no longer sit on top of the montior. Oh well, such is life. ;)

Last night at the movies...
Well last night I went with a mate to go and see The Last Samurai. Now I was expecting a decent movie but the trailers had left me with a sense of forboding of how Hollywood would deal with some of the aspects of the Samurai way of life. I can say that I was very happy with the production, the quality of the acting (esp a couple of young boys that did very well), the cinematography and the soundtrack (go Hans Zimmer)!
I reckon it is well worth a look but I think to really appreciate it you need to be in the right frame of mind. It is a true drama but with a lot of action as well as some good slow paced scenes.
Anyway this is one of the reasons that I have not been around as much the past few days. Hello to all. :)

Picture Update
Quite a while ago I went on a 4wd day trip with some mates. On that trip we went past a lookout to a waterfall - below is a link to a bigger version of a couple of the photos I took. I might say it was a beautiful sight but you can judge that for yourself. :D

Well I know I don't say a lot these days anyway but...
I am going up the Blue Mountains (west of Sydney) for a couple of days so you can expect even less interaction from me. Some of you may remember that I went 4WD some time ago and took some photos of a beautiful waterfall, well I have the photos back and will post them shortly.
Just got back from the mechanic and it seems my g-shock controller is damaged and needs replacing. As well as getting a boost controller and a turbo timer installed means I may be losing a couple of thousand dollars in the next few weeks. Just what I wanted. *sigh*
If I don't see you around, I hope you all have a great new year and 2004!

Hey guys, sorry that I have been largely absent at the moment but things have been really busy with the build up to Christmas and all. I should be around more in the post Christmas period as I have a few days off work but I won't promise you anything but I do miss you all. :)

Slightly bad news and some good news...

On a good news front though I am now the proud owner of the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers special edition. A whole extra 42mins of LotR! Wohoo! Now if only I had time to watch it...

Well it appears I have not updated my journal for some time. There are a couple of reasons for this:
1. Life is just plain hectic at the moment.
2. Wanted to reply to all the comments in my inbox before I did a new post. Trouble is the more comments there are the more I put off replying to them all. That is done now so... :)
I probably won't be around much this week as I think tonight is the only night I will be home, I am not ignoring you all though.

In other news it has been a long week so far:
Played 18 holes of golf last Friday.
Went for a 45min bike ride on Monday
Played 9 holes of golf on Tuesday
Guitar lesson Thursday
and tomorrow (Friday) I have a LAN games night - more VietCong goodness :)
Hopefully I can recover on the weekend but my home group (which was cancelled on Tuesday want to meet for lunch on Sunday)

Bleh - yucky weather
For the benefit of all of you who do not live in Sydney last night there was a little storm. Now this storm was a nice thunderstorm that happened to coincide with a nice little dust storm from the west. This means that it did not rain nice clean water but rather a kind of mud. Pretty much 2 out of every 3 cars look like they had mud sprayed on them. What makes this worse is that I washed my car two days ago and it was looking beautiful, now it just looks bleh! Now I have to wash my car again!

Get up and check bank balance - not enough money {sigh}
Eat breakfast then check bank balance - still not enough money
Watch TV for half an hour then check bank balance - now there is enough money!
Drive to bank (only has two branches) which is a 2hr round trip.
Ring insurance company and arranges insurance.
Finally drive to car dealership and pick up my new car! Yay!
Pick up mate to go for a test drive to Palm Beach :) Whilst en route get phone call from seldear asking if I would be willing to help move boxes and furniture when the removalists arrive. Me being a glutton for punishment agree.
Goes to seldear's house and help for 3 hours.
Show off new car to seldear
Exhausted, drive home to sleep but have to clean up the house before the parents get home from a trip tomorrow. {sigh}
BTW - for those interested in the car it is a 1992 Nissan Skyline HR32 GTS-T(4). :)
